Constitution



The United States Constitution is a living breathing document.  So too, your constitution is living and breathing.


The United States Constitution is not static but open to change with the changing times and circumstances.  So too is the human mind and body -- your mind and body.


At the same time, the United States Constitution is intended to withstand momentary changes in mood and sentiment.  To prevail in the midst of threat and challenge, and to serve as a beacon during times of confusion and fear. 


So too, your mind and body -- your constitution -- can play a similar role.  Mindfulness practices cultivate the ability to be in the midst of life’s challenges and struggles and at the same time respond from a state of balance and integrity.


Deeper principles of being human and living with awareness allow you to see clearly into the true nature of transient threats and one’s own reactivity.


With awareness of the breath, you steady your constitution.
