Going Through The Motions

While the law tends to be an intellectual enterprise, science (and experience) teaches us that exercise and experiential practices are fundamental for the development of a more complete and well-rounded person -- and attorney.

The term “going through the motions” refers to automatic behavior, or conduct that has a rote quality to it.  In some ways it is the opposite of mindfulness.

In Jurisight, “Going through the Motions” refers to physical exercises, many of which involve the hands (see Learned Hand Exercises), that engage the body, along with the mind.

It also refers to the series of Jurisight Motions that guide you through the various states of insight, from basic mindful awareness (motion to recuse) to enlightenment (motion to dissolve).
